The Staple White Table

Everyone has their own homestyle. From vibrant colors to Scandinavian muted tones. From ornate antiques to bold contemporary styles.

My style is definitely a mix, depending on the time of the year and what or who I'm inspired by at the moment. For example, I used to like really colorful decor. I still do, but not as much. Since I lived with a Norwegian friend who was all about the muted, natural tones and koselig (English: cozy) feel, I came to appreciate that style more. It gives me kind of a blank canvas to add specific style pieces to fit my current mood. And, it's also beautiful on its own!

A great example from Boca Do Lobo. See how open and inviting it looks! Imagine dressing it with any other pieces your heart desires.

The blank canvas works especially well for my staple table. Being the practical person that I am, I'm drawn to dinnerware, flatware, and serveware that can used for all occasions, whether they're for a fancy or casual meal. My key to having these items be flexible is the color white.

Take this Bennett collection from Crate & Barrel, for example. It's simple and has clean lines. Since it's white, it can be paired with any other color accent pieces to fit the occasion.

Crate & Barrel has other white dinnerware collections that has different shapes.

For a little something different, I'm really digging the textured style, too.

What's your style? Are you into the white table settings, too?
